The other day I really wanted to make something but I didn’t really know what exactly. So I googled “DIY fashion” and came across a lot of fun things to do.  I narrowed down my choices and this is what I came up with.

I created a pair of shorts from an old pair of capris I bought from Target ages ago. They are dark blue jean stretch Mossimo capris. I took an old white shirt, in fairly good condition, and cut off the top part of it to obtain the sequence fabric. The shirt is from Dots with white nylon and polyester fabric. The fabric was used to make pockets on the shorts. The original pockets on the shorts are still there. I didn’t want to remove them because I like the over all look it gave to the finished product. I also used the back of a dress that I had. The dress is from Ross (Rewind). I cut its sequence that shockingly matched the white shirt (previously described) and used it to trim the shorts. I used an iron on crystal cross for the back pocket so that it would give it a little sparkle but not too much as to take away from the overall design of the shorts. Everything was hand stitched on (this took me almost two days to finish). I had a lot of fun doing the project. There was a lot of sitting and starting at the shorts. I didn’t want to sew anything on and then hate the way it looked and have to start over. I like the outcome very much. I’m excited to find a shirt to go with them. I’m thinking a half see through shirt with asian wedges.

Hope you enjoyed! Check out more MY D.I.Y fashion in my posts
